Hi there. Lots of things to catch up on, so let's get started. In the lead off spot, the tragedy that occurred in Aurora Colorado as 12 people were killed and many others injured by some uber genius sick bastard who was able to stock pile enough weapons, ammo, bombs, and other stuff that would make some radical terrorist organization envious. Look, I'm in favor of the second amendment to the constitution, but it was written back in the late 1700's when we didn't have semi-automatic weaponry and body damaging bullets! The amendment needs to be changed for our safety. We need more politicians and common people to stand up to the N.R.A and the Ted Nugents of the world and say, "Enough with the guns don't kill people, people kill people" load of crap they spew at us. I have friends who hunt who understand and practice gun safety. Personally, I don't get the macho thrill of firing off rounds with a hand gun or rifle at a target or animal. It's like people who ride motorcycles wearing minimal clothing protection and a helmet that looked like the Jofa's that Wayne Gretzky wore when he played in the NHL. I'd like to believe deep in my heart that justice will be served, but my gut feeling is James Holmes will be declared mentally unfit to stand trial just like Jared Lee Laughner, who killed those 8 people in Arizona during a campaign stop by Gabrielle Giffords. This is also where the, "everyone is entitled a fair trail and innocent until proven guilty" law should be taken to some munitions depot with the stuff Holmes had bought and concocted and properly disposed of!
O.K. I'm off my pulpit and on to other things.
Something must be wrong with the world when James Dolan and the folks at Madison Square Garden are preaching fiscal responsibility when it comes to dolling out contracts. The Rangers aren't handing out 13 year contracts other NHL teams like the Wild and Flyers are; and the Knicks said "no" to matching the offer Jeremy Lin received from the Houston Rockets. Jeremy Lin was a great story during that crazy, lock out shortened NBA season that just ended. He wasn't worth the ridiculous contract that Houston signed him to. Also kudos to the Brooklyn Nets, who said no to Dwight Howard. Instead they re-signed Brook Lopez and Kris Humphries.
Only in France could someone along the route of one of the Tour De France stages throw carpet tacks out on the road and cause massive tire punctures and accidents. This could be bigger than the blood doping stuff.
This weeks sign of the apocalypse. Bethany Frankel has her own talk show on television! 57 channels and there's nothing on.
Very rarely do I say this, but I had a stretch of 3 great days. I was actually happy for a change! It started Tuesday when I collected on the bet I had made and won with my friend Jerry. I took his RPM class at Core, and then collected my winnings A Blueberry Wheat Ale he brewed and we named after Ranger goaltender Henrik Lundqvist. Being able to share that with the freaks. It re-inforces what makes that place so great. To quote the Mastercard commercial, "priceless." Best friends a person could have. The class was interesting and I was pleased with how I did for it being the first time on one of the bikes. Will I take the class again? Maybe. I promised two of my instructor friends that I would be in class for them when they do the video for their certification and third instructor has asked and hinted at the same thing.
Wednesday it was the annual summer evening trip to Lake George to hear some great Zydeco music by Grammy award winner C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana band in Shepard Park with a few of the Core crew. The best part was watching the people dance. I would recommend to Mayor Blais if he saw what I saw, to pass a law banning dancing at those shows. It was pathetic and funny at the same time.
Thursday, the Jammin' on Maple concert thing we do in City Park and hung out with Dan and Lisa Miner, Jason Checkla, Darrin Anderson and John Pratt. It's amazing how less stressful things are when you're not in the studio and can just relax and laugh with a great group of co-workers.
Sports wise this is my favorite time of year. British Open and PGA Championships are on tap for golf. NFL training camps are opening up. Saratoga is underway, so I'll be spending my weekends when I'm not on the golf course or in the vegetable garden in front of the TV watching horse racing on TVG. High school football practice kicks off in about 4 weeks. Summer goes by way to fast and unfortunately I'm always working or thinking about work to stop for a moment and just enjoy it. I need to find a blanket and put it under a big old shade tree with a Guinness or liter bottle of iced tea and just day dream and veg.
This wouldn't be an entry without me ragging on myself when it comes to my lack of female companionship. Here it comes. From Match.com they compiled a list of the 5 types of eligible guys who are not in a relationship. They were: The Workaholic, The Partier, Too Shy Guy, Too Picky Guy, and None of the above guy. I could be placed in 4 of the 5 categories, the only one not being "the partier."
I have gotten over the fact that Sofia Vergara is engaged. Damm. Missed my shot with her by that much!
Finally to my friend who is an RPM instructor and who said to me the other day, "I'm not a Combatter." Look, I had never taken an RPM class until last Tuesday and I finally got on one of those bikes. Join us fighters on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday and punch, kick, block and muay thai with us. I'll gladly show the ropes and proper techniques. You don't need to wear padded shorts and your butt won't hurt afterward from sitting on an uncomfortable bike seat for almost an hour, lol...Leccese out.

Confessions from a Non Organic Gardener
Hi there. So we've made it through half the year. I can honestly say it has been some of the most puzzling 6 months in my life.
It started with giving up sarcasm. Apparently sarcasm is a veiled form of anger and according to a close friend who pointed this out to me, I was one very angry, p---ed off individual. The hardest part of all this has been discovering how much of a defense barrier using sarcasm was for me. I come so far and hardly ever use sarcasm and when I do I realize how hard this exercise in becoming a better person is. I've lost a part of my sense of humor which was built on often times replying with witty, sarcastic replies. I try not to say them anymore for the fear they could be mean spirited and hurt someones feelings, especially my friends. I compare it to being a batter at the plate with a 3-0 count and not swinging at the next pitch although you know it will be a strike. I don't want to ever downplay or feel like I'm putting down people who suffer from mental illnesses, but I've mentioned many times that if there was something called "clinical frustration" in psychology or other books that counselors use to make a diagnosis with, I'd be the poster child for it.
On to other things. I'm reading an article on the re-boot of the television series Dallas, and Larry Hagman said he plays J.R. Ewing with comic sensibilities. He also stated, "everybody in the family has a jerk in it like J.R." J.R. Ewing in a comedic light? Nah. The other thing I noticed was how great Linda Gray looked.
I love this one from the show prep about a dead beat dad who owed 32 thousand dollars in back child support. A bounty hunter lured him back to Pennsylvania where he used to live and fled to avoid paying by convincing this guy that there was a co-starring role for him in a movie with Jennifer Anniston. Sad or stupid if you ask me.
I love my parents but hearing them argue over some of the most frivolous and ridiculous things makes me glad I've never been married. Do all couple do that?
Our meteorologist friend Paul Caiano once described the females who give the forecasts on the Weather Channel as "weather porn." Paul you are absolutely right on the money. Paul have you noticed, "but they're soooo pretty!" Besides have you seen what they put on Fox News or the Fox Business Channel?
How did I spend my Fourth of July? Watching the NHL Network for like, 3 hours. A two hour documentary on the 1994 Stanley Cup Champion New York Rangers followed by the hour long show, "The Day That Changed The Game, February 22nd 1980." The Miracle on Ice in Lake Placid and its impact on the game of ice hockey in the U.S. Couldn't pass up watching that one.
We lost a national treasure with the passing of Andy Griffith on Tuesday. Who didn't like his portrayal of sheriff Andy Taylor on the "Andy Griffith Show" or later on as lawyer Ben Matlock. If you want hear Andy Griffith at his best, go to YouTube and look up and listen to a monologue he did called, "What it was, was football." Just brilliant and funny.
With all the talk of fiscal responsibility, why is it at the start of both the NHL and NBA free agency period, teams spend money and over pay for talent like they just got an inheritance check from a dead relative. The Minnesota Wild gave out not one but two 13 year, 98 million dollar contracts to Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. Does the name Rick DiPietro mean anything to those folks in so-called "State of Hockey?"
Finally while filling in for Dan and Pete Tuesday morning, Frank Troelstra from Garden Time comes in and does his usual call in feature. I found out that I'm not an organic gardener after all. I use a product called, "Tomato and Blossom Set." It's a spray that increases yield and speeds up the ripening process on vegetables. I believe in it and does work. Remember when going to the market and buying produce, the key word is 'heirloom" not "organic."...Leccese out.

Man to man I did it because...
Hi there. It's June 24th and I finally played that first round of golf! Note to self. Next time remember to put the regular putter you use in your bag and take out the extra one your parent uses when he borrowed your set because his clubs were in South Carolina. Among the many golfing debates is the use of long shafted "belly putters." I use one and swear by it because I just plain suck when it comes to putting and its more comfortable for my achy breaky back. Best $7.50 investment I ever made. I'll tell you that story some other time.
Since I'm on the topic of golf, last weeks U.S. Open was an unfair test for the pros and Webb Simpson won because he was the last man standing after all the other players just caved in. I've played the Olympic Club on World Golf Tour. It's a nasty test on my laptop and I'd probably shoot in the 140's if I had to play the course for real. The16th hole is a 671 yard par 5 from the back tees! They even moved the tee boxes up 101 yards on Sunday and this monster still played almost 600 yards!
On to other things. I'll get this one out of the way first. Congratulations to LeBron James and the Miami Heat for winning the NBA championship. I'm sorry but no way, no how will I ever concede that LeBron James will go down as the greatest player in NBA history no matter how great his career ends up.
I know the NHL is trying to attract more fans, but the NHL Awards Show from Las Vegas was proof why I never watch any awards show period. That was a brutal watch. The hi-light was the F-bomb that Henrik Lundqvist got by the censors when he gave his acceptance speech for winning the award as top goaltender.
The NHL draft came and went and all I know is that every team when they made its first round pick congratulated the LA Kings for winning the Stanley Cup, thanked the people of and the city of Pittsburgh for its hospitality hosting the draft, and said hello to their fans watching at its draft party somewhere.
So the parent club of the Phantoms traded Sergei Bobrovsky and got more picks. That doesn't solve the problem in net for the Flyers does it. I was surprised the Flyers even had a first round pick and they didn't trade it away. Hope the folks in Allentown love those kids. I don't think we'll be seeing them playing for us anytime soon.
One more draft note. 18 years after Stephane Matteau slipped a puck under Marty Brodeur in Game 7 of the 1994 Stanley Cup semi-finals to win the series in 2 OT for the Rangers, they drafted his son in the first round. I guess if you can't beat the father, draft the son when he becomes draft eligible. I loved when they asked the son of his memories of that game, he said, "I was 3 months old, its kind of hard to remember anything at that age."
In light of the Roger Clemens and Jerry Sandusky trials and recent verdicts, I've got a good sports story. Former NY Giants running back Brandon Jacobs who now plays for the 49ers got a letter from a 5 year old fan. The boy was upset because the Giants couldn't re-sign him. His mom told him the Giants couldn't afford to sign him. The young man sent a letter to Jacobs at the 49ers offices along with the $3.36 that was in his piggy bank wondering if that was enough for Jacobs to comeback and play for the Giants. Jacobs was so touched by the kids letter. When he came back to NJ to move his family west; Jacobs took his 5 year old son, the young boy and his 4 year old brother for a day of fun at one of those bounce house places and just played and hung out with him as way of saying thanks. Jacobs also gave the kid an autographed Giants helmet, jersey and a $5.00 bill for his piggy bank. We need more Brandon Jacobs out there.
This weeks sign of the apocalypse: A woman has filed a lawsuit against an 11 year old boy and his family for $150,000 for a bad throw the kid made during a little league game that injured the woman.
A man living in Ohio has 15 count 'em Miley Cyrus tattoos on his body. He's either really scary looking or living in somebody's basement and will never have a girlfriend. If he's married, his wife must be a saint.
Good stuff from our radio station show prep service this week. The first two come from New Jersey, where in the southern portion of the state, a woman went to the homes of a couple of police officers in the town of Vineland and dropped her pants and mooned them for no reason. The second is from the the town of Hopatcong where a guy was arrested for calling 911 claiming he was the President and demanded to speak with Tim Tebow. They found this guy hiding in mommy's closet underneath some pillows. The last time I did that was when I was 4 years old and I thought there were monsters hiding under the bed.
Finally, about a little more than a year ago I passed on the story of a guy who trashed a bar in Illinois because the bar had a photo Mario Lopez in it. His reason, "I just don't like Slater!" I unofficially adopted it as my motto for a lot of my wrong actions. Why did you say or do that Ken? I could reply, "I just don't like Slater." Well that unofficial motto has been replaced by this one from a guy in Miami who was arrested for video voyeurism for filming contestants back stage at the Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant. He had a hidden camera stashed in a unzipped backpack. His excuse to police, "Man to man, I did it because I've never had a girlfriend." So if I screw up or say something to hurt or offend someone I might just reply, "Man to man I did or said it because I've never had a girlfriend." It's the absurdities of life that make writing this blog so much fun!...Leccese out

Taking in orphans like I do every year
Hi there. Only 60 days til the start of high school football practice and 79 days til the first game of the year on 1450 WWSC.
Leading off this entry is the Belmont Stakes. I'll Have Another is retired after vets found tendinitis in one of his front legs. Look we all know about the suspension and past history of trainer Doug O'Neill, but I honestly believe the horse was not fit to run properly. Could he have run? Yeah I think so, but I wouldn't have taken the chance. We've seen so many of these horses breakdown and have to be put down afterward. Not worth the risk. Besides, you win a couple of Triple Crown races and you're headed off to stud. Not a bad gig if you can get it.
Got to be happy for the Los Angeles Kings and their Stanley Cup championship victory over the Devils. Jack Kent Cooke who was the original owner of the team, was told that there were over 300,000 Canadians living in the L.A. area. Frustrated by the attendance figures at home games he replied, "Now I know why they left, they hated hockey!" Somewhere in heaven he's smiling right now.
No comment or prediction on the NBA championship series after "The Leccese Curse" reared its ugly head in last weeks entry.
Last week I talked about the leaky water heater located in the bedroom closet and I have an update for you on that situation. Had a new one installed earlier this week. There was a positive, I haven't had the carpet installed in the bedroom yet so I didn't have to replace that after only 6 months too.
It's the middle of June and I haven't played golf on a real course yet. The only golf I've been playing is World Golf Tour on my laptop.
Here is another reason why I don't have either a girlfriend or wife. Last week a female friend got a new hairstyle. She asked me for the, "male perspective" and what I thought of her new look. You can find much better candidates than me for the, "male perspective." Before I reveal my reply, I think this person is attractive to begin with, so anything she would have done with her hair would have looked good to me. My reply (drum roll inserted here)..."It looks fine." Not the response she or any female would be looking for. To make a long story short, she wanted to hear that I loved it. It brought back the nightmare of going to weddings and the bride pulls you aside during the reception to either dance with you or ask for the "male perspective" on what you think of her wedding dress. I am so bad when it comes to picking up the subtle hints or signals that females send out. A woman could hit me in the head with one of those lawn signs so see everywhere that would read, "Kenny, I'm interested or attracted to you. Would you like to get together sometime?" I would be totally oblivious and unaware of what her intentions were. It has happened. Just ask Dan and Pete. They've seen it. Remember Dan Miner has known me for 23 years. He's got stories.
From our show prep files comes this one. Two women were arrested for showing off their assets and flashing and distracting golfers on an Illinois golf course. Another case where if I was getting ready to hit a shot and one of my friends pointed that out, I would probably ignore the two ladies, hit my shot and wonder, "If my ball lands over there, would I have to take a penalty stroke if I move the ball back two club lengths or should I just play the ball where it lies."
This happens to my garden every year. I start out planting 5 or 6 tomato plants with room for additional plants. I eventually end up getting a couple of orphaned plants who need a good home from friends. I can't say no and so I take them. Case in point. Frank from Gardentime comes in Tuesday afternoon to cut a radio spot. We start talking and he says to me, "Stop in and see me. I have a couple tomato plants to give you." I really didn't want them, but I couldn't turn down the generosity of a friend. Now I have 8 tomato plants. My garden is like Thanksgiving day. Every year you plan to cut back on the amount of food you're going to make, but in the end you make the same amount or even more. I say I'm not going to plant as much, but I end up growing the same amount or a little bit more. Good thing I have plenty of friends who will gladly take the extra tomatoes off my hands come harvest time. The line at the counter will be starting soon if it hasn't already. Take a number please and wait til you're called. No fighting in line either.
Sending out "freak" love to everyone at Core like I do everyone now and then. You're the best. Don't ever forget that.
Finally I want to wish all the Dads out there a Happy Fathers Day. Also all you Uncles too. I'm lucky not just to have a great Dad, but to have had so many Uncles in my life who have been there for me and made me a better person...Leccese out.

Fighting the never ending battle against the forces of white pine needles, squirrels and a leaky water heater
Hi there. Welcome to June. Still trying to get settled in at our new location at 238 Bay Road right on the Queensbury/Glens Falls border. It's been almost a month, and the work continues. That picture is of the new CKM on air studio Lots of good stuff to talk about so lets get started.
First, have to go with Johan Santana last Friday night and his no-hitter against the Cards which was the first in Mets history. I only listened to bottom of the eighth and the last 3 outs. If it wasn't for a Facebook post saying Santana had something special going on, I probably wouldn't have tuned in at all. Like most Mets fans, you would have thought that a team with pitchers like Seaver, Koosman, Gooden, or name some more of the outstanding ones who have played for the Amazin's would have gotten that first one before Santana's gem. Here's the thing about Santana. He in that "great" pitcher category, not the "found lightning in a bottle and got lucky once" category. By the way, how many teams wish they could have the Mets one-two punch of Santana and R.A.Dickey starting at the top of the rotation?
Now lets talk Stanley Cup finals where the Kings are up 3 games to 1 on the Devils. The Kings are one, big, fast team and Jonathan Quick is an elite goaltender. You have to give the LA fans credit for being creative with the taunting of their opponent. In Game 3 they've got these big cardboard head things of the cast of "Jersey Shore." Game 4 sitting right behind the Devils bench was well endowed adult film star Taylor Stevens. You couldn't miss her presence at the game especially when the cameras did a close up shot of Peter DeBoer walking along the back of the bench.
Does Flyers GM Paul Holmgren get a Kings Stanley Cup ring? Considering that Daniel Briere, Mike Richards, and Jeff Carter are former Flyers who were acquired by Dean Lombardi this past year. He should get one and a winners bonus share as well.
I'm praying to the basketball gods that the Celtics beat the Heat so LeBron James isn't in the finals. I don't care who wins as long its not the Miami Heat.
Congratulations go out to Miley Cyrus and her fiance Liam Hemsworth. This will be so good. Vanessa Bayer has to do a SNL "Miley Cyrus Show" bridal shower sketch or even better yet have CMT pay Miley a boat load of cash and have a special edition of "My Big Celebrity Redneck Wedding!"
On to the home front, where the squirrels think the hummingbird feeder I put out is for them. Sorry Rocket J., not on your life. I'm very forgiving during the winter when you eat out the regular bird feeder, but leave the hummingbird food alone. They've already destroyed one and are trying to get after a second. You figure with those needle like beaks the hummingbirds would fight back against those furry invaders, but no they don't.
The garden is looking good except for the shedding of the white pine trees which means having to delicately rake the long needles around the plants and seedlings.
Then there is the water heater. Last December my bedroom became a kiddie pool when one burst on me. Fast forward six months and 2 Sundays ago I grab something from the shelf above the heater and I discover there's a slow leak. The good news was I haven't put in new carpet yet and the leak has not made it past the closet where its located.
One more thing before I end this entry and that is the Belmont Stakes on Saturday. My only advice or prediction is box an exacta or trifecta with 'I'll Have Another" and any other horses in the field. As a horse racing fan, of course I want to see a Triple Crown Winner. I'm just not that sure this time. The 1 1/2 mile distance is a totally different monster to try to handicap...Leccese out.

Getting caught up after a crazy couple of weeks
Hi there. When I looked at the date of my last post which was May 2nd, I found it hard to believe that it has been 3 weeks. I think in the 4 year history of The Greenhouse Effect that this has been the longest stretch between entries. Even being sick or just plain busy never stopped me from posting at least once a week or every 10 days.
Back to business. Leading off a horse named, I'll Have Another. Two great runs to victory in both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness. Bodemeister is quickly becoming known as the greatest pace setter in history. Mike Smith is an amazing jockey, but I have question the pace that Bodemeister ran in both races. In Derby, he was going way too fast and the horse ran out of gas. In the Preakness, the horse ran slower split times than in the Derby, but didn't put it in high gear as he made his way around the far turn into the home stretch. With the shorter distance, the pace Bodemeister set in the Derby would have won him the Preakness. Mario Gutierrez rode I'll Have Another perfectly. Keeping him within striking distance and out of traffic and then just at the right moment getting the horse to break in high gear. Don't start speculating about winning the Triple Crown. We horse racing fans are desparate for one since Affirmed last did it in 1978.
By now the big move to our new home at 238 Bay Road in Queensbury has happened. So you think moving to a new home is hard? Try moving 3 radio stations. Having to co-ordinate studio moves with minimal down time is like trying to choreograph a ballet. Then there's all the satellite equipment, processing, and of course the furniture and workstations. There's still more stuff to be brought over and put away in new spots. It has been a one hell of a crazy week. The two guys who have gotten the worst of it are Jim Scott and Alan Doane, who's studios are still under construction. Alan is doing the best production he can in a temporary spot and Jim's news room is about 75 percent done. He should be able to broadcast Tuesday if everything lines up perfectly for our engineer to finish everything.
I wonder if the Las Vegas odds makers had a line on which Los Angeles sports team would make it to finals. The odds on favorite would have been the Lakers, right? Well the guy who put his money on the Kings will be a very wealthy man barring a monumental collapse.
Rangers/Devils in the Eastern Conference semi's. Doesn't get any better than that. Gary Bettman is thanking the hockey gods for that one. He's even begging the media to leave Coach Torts alone and let Devils coach Peter DeBoer do all the talking.
Even the most hardcore, passionate baseball fan had no idea that this years' All-Star game was being played in Kansas City at Kaufman Stadium. It has been nearly 30 years since the Royals were the slightest bit relevant.
Can someone pass on this note to Mitch Albom. Please come back to The Sports Reporters!
I didn't watch, but saw some of the sketches Eli Manning did as host of Saturday Night Live. The cross dressing thing gave me the creeps. The best sketch hands down was the public service parody, "Little Brothers." That maniacal laugh at the end was downright hilarious and scary at the same time. Never thought Eli would do something like that.
On the local front, a woman in Saratoga County walked into a Curtis Lumber store and a Stewarts shop in the Ballston Spa area naked within minutes of each other. The woman claimed she was merely expressing her freedom to be fully liberated by walking nude into those places. What's even better was mental health checked her out and found no psychiatric issues whatsoever. This is one case where I would have sought a second opinion.
Both the How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory season finales were in two words, disappointing and lame.

Garden 2012 is planted! To quote Tom Petty, 'The waiting is the hardest part."
Next projects on tap. Getting carpet installed and writing the sequel to the Morning Club Christmas Carol.
Is it O.K. for this Mets fan to buy some of the cool Red Sox ice cream novelties that are made by Hood that you can find in local grocery stores? If I was a Yankee fan it would be considered a violation of being a Yankee fan. Buying any food product with Red Sox on the label. I've noticed there are never any cool food products that say, "Mets" on it. It's always Yankees or Red Sox. Now I know how Jets fans feel. LMAO.
Finally, if I have to see underside of one more counter top to either to take down or set up and plug in equipment, I think I'm going to runaway to Flushing and watch the Mets play at CitiField with my seats in the Pepsi Porch. It will have driven me that crazy to do something like that...Leccese out.

Where's my May basket?
Hi there. Well here it is May and right now I'm so far behind. The weather has set me back a few weeks in getting the garden ready. Need to borrow Dave Thomas' mantis tiller. Buy the endless bags of soil enrichers, a.k.a cow manure and get the beds ready for tomatoes, beans, and squash. Also have to buy a couple of bags of container soil for my potato bags. The other thing is the hardening process in which you take the seedlings that you started and have growing inside and gradually get them used to being outside before you put them in the ground. Got lettuce seeds sown in the ground and my Earthboxes are ready for the eggplant and peppers to go in them.
The other thing I'm behind on is my golf game. Haven't picked up a club yet.
Another level of hell must have frozen over when the both Grizzlies and the Clippers make the NBA playoffs in the same year.
When they said hit the glass hard Amare Stoudemire, they meant rebounding the basketball, not punching your hand through a fire extinguisher door.
It must be pretty good to be a sports fan in Los Angeles these days. The Lakers and Clippers both have good chances to advance to the second round of the Association playoffs. The Dodgers with former Yankee Don Mattingly managing them are off to a great start (Matt Kemp is a stud!); and the cherry on top of the sundae is the Kings knocking off the Canucks in round one of the Stanley Cup play-offs and are up 2-0 on the Blues. The Kings haven't made that much of a play-off noise since Wayne Gretzky played for them and Barry Melrose was behind the bench.
In last Sunday's NY Daily News, Mike Lupica wrote this observation about Rangers coach John Tortorella. "This is going to sound crazy, but there are days when the Dale Carnegie courses really don’t seem to be taking with John Tortorella."
My folks are back from their trip to China. Had a very nice time on their 3 city tour. Unfortunately for me and my brother in law, they couldn't find any cool personal electronic devices. On a positive note, I don't have an Asian bride to get married to. That's what they plan to bring back for me when they visit Italy. LOL.
Am I feeling alright? I haven't ripped CitiField in whole month. I must be slipping.
I don't what is uglier. The new logo of the re-branded Brooklyn (formally New Jersey) Nets or the new unis that Nike designed for Rutgers. At least they're better looking then the ones that Nike are outfitting the Seahawks in. Talk about double bag ugly!
So this girl took a Tim Tebow cut out type advertising display to her prom. She walked in the procession with it. It would have been really funny if the cut out had been named prom king. I wish I was that smart or creative in high school. I could have done that with a Cathy Ireland or Carol Alt type display. FYI-I graduated high school in 1984.
One NFL draft note. Some idiot got hold of Mohamed Sanu's phone number and played a not so nice prank on him by calling him up during the first round and saying the Bengals were going to draft him with the 27th pick. He thought something was up when he saw the actual pick and it wasn't him. The irony in all this is the Bengals drafted him in the third round.
Junior Seau was one heck of linebacker for the Chargers and Patriots. Sad to hear about his passing and how it happened. He was only 3 years younger than me.
I occasionally listen to Dennis Miller's syndicated talk show which can be heard on Talk 1450 WWSC weekday mornings at 10am (that's a shameless plug). Some of his references make me feel really dumb at times.
So we're on the verge of leaving our soon to be old home at 128 Glen Street for the very nice nearly completed new digs on Bay Road. The new place is beautiful. However, there's one thing I really don't like about it. Too many windows! I prefer to have my studio be a cross between a maximum security prison and those military command centers that they build deep inside a mountain. If I wanted to be seen, I would have become a sportscaster on television. Can I make a suggestion? Would it be possible to install some vertical and horizontal blinds for some extra privacy? I didn't think so...Leccese out.
