Catching up

Hi there.  Just to let everyone know the reports of, "The Greenhouse Effects'' death have been greatly exaggerated.  It's been like a lot of my life lately.  To put it simply, its called,  "finding the motivation."   After taking the notes down, actually writing the entry.  Darn Angry Birds Star Wars edition, lol.  I also have been lacking that motivation to go to the gym and work out.
Let's move on.  O.K. America's unofficial royal family a.k.a "The Kardashians" had there birth with Kimmy and Kanye welcoming a baby girl.  (Please tell me the kids name isn't really North).  As I write this entry Kate Middleton is in labor and the Brits will have something to celebrate.  I wonder if they'll announce it like the College of Cardinals do when they elect a new pontiff?  Look for smoke coming out of Buckingham palace's chimney.  Black smoke means a boy, white smoke means a girl.
I could have stayed in my home yesterday and done nothing all day but just sit in front of the TV and watch the final round of the British Open and then switch over to TVG to watch the races from Saratoga and Monmouth Park.  Luckily Phil Mickelson played the back nine of his life and made it possible for me to shower and go to the Warrensburg transfer station and make it back in time to catch the first race from the Jersey Shore.  I compare Phil Mickelson to NASCAR driver Tony Stewart.  When he's good, he's scary good.  Plus Phil also very likable very much like Tony.
I've been wondering this for a while.  Is hockey dying in our area? All these rumors about the Civic Center closing if another AHL team doesn't come in after the Phantoms leave.  Now  Utica is back in the AHL and some major money is coming from the state to renovate the Aud, The Lake George Forum not being profitable enough to put down ice this year and the real stab in the gut for me was the merger of the Glens Falls and S.Glens Falls/HF high school teams.  That I never expected in my lifetime. It's actually sad in a way.  One important thing about the Civic Center.  It's more than just hockey!  Binghamton and other places have been dying for a shot at the public high school athletic association basketball championships and take it from Glens Falls.  By telling everyone that the arena could close isn't gonna help our chances of keeping it when the next round of bidding takes place.
Less than a month til the start of football practice and we've released our broadcast schedule of games for the 2013 season  It will be up on the WWSC website shortly.
I did watch the first two innings of the All Star game just to see how Matt Harvey would do.  Plunking Robinson Cano accidentally with the third pitch of the game almost gave me a heart attack.
This Mets fans loved the Tom Seaver quote about Matt Harvey, "What I've seen, I've been duly impressed."
I know everyone loves it, but how serious can you take the home run derby when the pitcher is throwing batting practice type softballs?
I love this statement from Rachael Robinson who said baseball celebrates it history.  She said it at CitiField and in the main entrance which is named after and honors her late husband who didn't play for the team that plays in it and who's own history isn't celebrated enough there.
Note to MLB network.  Your All-Star game video celebrating New York and its National League history narrated by John Franco was a nice touch. Ignoring Shea Stadium was a major slap in the face to us Mets fans who miss the old place.  1969, the ball going through Bill Buckner's legs and Mike Piazza's home run in September of 2001 against the Braves that gave New York something to smile about again didn't happen at Ebbetts Field or the Polo Grounds.
On the home front, the landscaper (2 months late) finally showed up with the plans to do some serious yard renovation work and she omits one major thing.  The area for my vegetable garden was not a part of the picture. Oops.  Well back to the drawing board.  Nothing is ever easy at the house I live at.
The other day I'm on the air and I read this list of 10 things to help lead a happier life. One of them was not to be afraid to speak your mind.  If I started doing that, I may be happier, but I'd lose a lot friends.  I'll stick with being silently politically correct, keeping my big mouth shut, and somewhat depressed.
If you don't like what you hear on the radio, either turn it off or just change the dial please.  We had a caller actually complain to Dan and Pete after they congratulated Mikey on his engagement on the air.
Charity go-cart race is coming up August 6th and if you'd like raise money and race, you can download your form at www.wckm.com.
Finally, in light of what's been happening to some of these major court decisions and trial verdicts lately, remember the system works whether you agree with outcomes or not...Leccese out.
