Superbowl XLVII and other thoughts as the birthday approaches

Hi there. So here it is.  Big Game Sunday and the only in depth analysis you'll get from me is: 49ers 27, Ravens 20.
I want to see Beyonce have a "so-called" wardrobe malfunction while performing, "Single Lady" during the half-time show just so we can have more protests and controversies.  Like we need anymore.
Boy has the PC police been working overtime this week.  Coca Cola ad considered offensive to a minority group..  Volkswagen ad considered offensive to a religious group.  My favorite though was Taco Bell pulling a humorous ad about what to bring to a party because and I'm not making this up, 'It discourages people from eating vegetables!"  If anyone should be protesting Taco Bell, it should be Mexican restaurant owners who serve authentic cuisine from Mexico and who know what a real Taco looks and tastes like.  FYI- The tortillas aren't crispy shells that are the flavor of Nacho Cheese or Ranch Doritos people!  I admit to not being the biggest Mexican food fan.  However, if you put a plate of slow cooked shredded chicken or pork with a rich mole' sauce and some queso fresco on top in front of me; it doesn't stand a chance.
Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow.  Sorry, my cat hopped on the keyboard and starting typing.
One more Superbowl commercial to be aware of and that is for Go Daddy!  I'm hoping the actor who got to kiss model Bar Rafaeli in it purposely screwed up a couple of the takes.  I was reading where it took them 45 times to get it right.  If he didn't at least once, he should have his man card taken away.
Not one, but two "This weeks sign of the apocalypse."   Number one is Kris Jenner, is in talks to have a weekday talk show.  We've started scraping the bottom of the barrel haven't we.  Number 2.   The radio station in Australia is considering re-hiring the two idiots who called the hospital where Kate Middleton was staying for her morning sickness and pulled that stunt. Well you know how that ended up.  They belong in a jail cell with Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis.  Or if they will be hired back, they should be given jobs that is appropriate for their talents.  Cleaning the station toilets with their tongues.
I want to let the members of Train know that their song, "Hey, Soul Sister" has been officially knocked off the top of the list of songs that if I'm on my death bed and want my life to end; play that song in a continuous loop until I flat line.  The Lumineers, "Ho Hey!" is now on top.  Two minutes and forty one seconds of my life I never get back every time I hear that song.  Brutal, just plain brutal.
This Giant fan feels Bill Parcells doesn't belong in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  I don't think Cris Carter is a Hall of Famer either.  But somehow they got in.
Is Rachael Ray's talk show having ratings problems?  Couldn't they find anyone else and better than Regis Philbin to co-host with her on occasion?  It's bad enough that every time a baking segment is on we have to see Buddy Valastro a.k.a, "The Cake Boss."  That guy gives me the creeps.
Former Mayor of NYC Ed Koch passed away at age 88.  He was far from perfect and had a long list of friends and just as many enemies.  He was also a New York treasure.  I loved this quote of his, "I don't get ulcers, I give them out."
I think the President needs to spend more time working on ending the debt crisis and getting our kids home from Afghanistan than spouting off in an interview about if he and the first lady had a son their reluctance to having the child try out for and play football.  You could say that about any sport.  It's like they don't have concussions or head trauma issues in soccer, hockey, baseball or lacrosse.
Note to the NRA.  We're not trying to take your guns away or infringe on the second amendment.  We're trying to make our society safer.
Friday night I was in Fort Ann broadcasting a basketball game that ended up being a blowout, but seeing someone actually dress up in a school mascot costume was totally cool.
Love the look of the new basketball court at the Civic Center.
If you're ever up in my neck of the woods in Chestertown and are looking for a casual place with a solid beer selection and great food, try the Hemlock Lodge.  Its been a long time since I had a great burger and Wednesday night had one with my cousin who in town on a business trip.
My cousin was telling me that his youngest son who is now a sophomore in high school has 3 to 5 hours of homework a night during the week and 8 hours on the weekend.  Is that the norm?  Am I that out of touch not ever wanting to have kids and be a parent?
Enjoy the game and remember to eat your veggies!..Remember the PC Police are watching you and could strike at any time without warning...Leccese out.
